Brothers Dean and Ron Mullikin started Atomic Race Timing to fill a gap in the market place for small to medium size race timing.  Hosting many races of their own and relying upon other companies to time their events, they decided to purchase their own equipment and time their own races. I think everyone was little disappointed with the overall outcome of the weekend after not making the championship game considering the way we played. We played two really exciting games against, what became, the second and third place teams in the tournament. To lose out on a shot at the medal game by a combined two goals (and 60 seconds!) is really rough. More than one player, coach and referee, after seeing us play, wished us luck in the finals! But, contrasted to the previous year where we really were not competitive with the top teams we should be, and are, really excited.

Knowing we were out of the hunt going into the last game, the coaches (and players) were expecting a fun, loose, easy game to ease our way out of the weekend. Unfortunately, that isn’t what we got! Fatigue, disappointment, bad coaching? Who knows, but we hit the field for the final game and stunk it up in the first half. The coaches were really frustrated.

Lose a tough game where you play well? No problem, we’re happy with that. Win (or winning) a “walk-over” game, but playing poorly and losing the focus that carried us through the last couple of weeks (including the Border Bash)? Not going to make the ride home easy!

All of that changed at the 59:30 mark. What a difference 30 seconds can make in your outlook and mood.

With just 30 seconds of less than normal Rebel level play left on Sunday evening, Noah was taken out just inside the box and a ray of hope for saving the collective mood was born! There was no debate amongst the coaches on who would take the penalty kick. Brian Rogers walked to the line, cool as a cucumber and waited for the whistle. Tweet! Smack! Lower left corner, perfectly placed! GGGOOOOOAAAALLLLL! Brian scores his first goal of the season – making him the last of the 16, 2010/11 Rebels to score this season. Pandemonium ensues! I am not sure who was more excited, the coaches or Brian (ok it was the coaches – at least outwardly!). With that simple kick, the entire previous 59 minutes is forgotten, an hour’s worth of grumbling disappears and all that is left is bubbly, unbridled joy and smiles (really big ones)!

In all my 20+ years of coaching, I don’t ever remember having a season where every player on the team scored at least one goal. The feat may never be repeated and will be treasured for a long time. Thank you 2010/11 Rebels for a glorious season of growth and success!

Needing a design to reflect the unique but very pretty jewelry she designs, Denice of Lucelli Designs contacted 1027 Design about a new website to launch her jewelry to a larger audience. San Jose Soccer Complex

After successfully rolling out a redesign of the CYSA District 2 website early last year, those involved in youth soccer in the Silicon Valley area again turned to 1027 Design for a site to represent their new soccer complex foundation. Needing a professional front, while maintaining a clear focused message that could be updated easily by those in charge, 1027 Design’s content management system really fit the bill. The San Jose Soccer Complex Foundation is a 501c3 charitable, non-profit foundation missioned buy the local soccer leagues and clubs to develop and manage a soccer complex capable of hosting the largest local, regional and national competitions. To that end, they have purchased 50 acres of land just south of San Jose on which to develop the complex.

Arthritis Associates of Redding

Up first is a new site for Arthritis Associates of Redding: arthritisredding.com. This is their first site and they were very specific wanting a very clean and simple look with an emphasis on usability.

Drs. Reeder and Peters’ medical office specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Code 3 Racing

A chance meeting at another client’s store, led to the creation of a new website for Code 3 Racing. Code 3 Racing need a site to help promote their awareness and fundraising efforts on behalf of several organizations. The website is centered around their one of a kind “sheriff’s car drag racer”.

Code III Racing Inc. was the brainchild of the founder and President, retired Shasta County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ed Niederberger. Having received his first 7 tickets at 14 years old and put on formal probation for 2 1/2 years, he figured it was better to join them than beat them.

This led to his 30+ year career in law enforcement. During his career almost every juvenile that was stopped by Ed for a vehicle violation was snitched off to Mom or Dad rather than put through the court system. This was part of the seed planted for the development of this non-profit corporation.

Foothill High School Band

Growing frustrated with student maintained websites, the Foothill High School Band was in search of a more professional presence that could be updated by the band director and other helpers, but carried a professional look. Utilizing the 1027Pages Content Management System, 1027 Design was able to meet and exceed their requests.

Founded in 1991, the Foothill High School Instrumental Music Department has a strong reputation of excellence here in the North State. The department offers award winning concert bands, two strong jazz ensembles, an elite marching band, a highly rated percussion ensemble, a fan-favorite drumline as well as various other brass and woodwind ensembles.

The Foothill High School Symphonic Band is one of two concert bands offered at FHS. Over the last nine years, the band has grown to the 75 students enrolled this year. In addition, the Freshman Band has 50 exuberant young musicians ready to step into the symphonic band! The Symphonic Band swept the many instrumental categories at the 2007 Heritage Festival in Anaheim and the 2008 Heritage Festival in San Francisco. We consistently perform at an elite level locally, receiving unanimous Superior Ratings at the CMEA Region II Instrumental Music Festival eight years consecutively.

Red Bluff Youth Soccer League

After going through a large change in personnel at the Board level, including the loss of their webmaster, the Red Bluff Youth Soccer League Board was looking for a new website that they could manage easily.
