Apple’s new iPad materials cost only $229… um, who cares?

Ok, I mean really? Why would someone take the time (other than Apple) to figure this out? And not just one person, these articles have been popping up with some regularity lately. Are they trying to imply that Apple is ripping people off by charging $400 for the iPad? What about R&D, advertising, overhead, etc? Not to mention, isn’t the point (from Apple’s side of things) to make a little money? When was the last time you someone breakdown the cost of materials in a new Ford F-150 or a Dell? Maybe I just don’t understand…..
